Excellence was once again brought to the forefront as two faculty members of the College of Accounting Education (CAE) Assistant Dean, Mr. Devzon U. Porras and Assistant Research Coordinator, Dr. Rebecca Maquiling earned recognition during the 80th Founding Anniversary of the University of Mindanao, held on July 22, 2026, at the SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier, Davao City. Mr. Porras received the Golden Harvest Award for his achievement in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026, where his case study ranked 47th among submissions from universities across the globe. His entry, "Software-Based Student Academic Portfolio (SAP) for Better Student Enhancement and Intervention," showcases how innovation can create meaningful opportunities for student growth and academic success. More than a recognition of academic excellence, the award reflects a commitment to developing solutions that leave a lasting impact on education. Also recognized was Dr. Maquiling who was awarded the 20-Year Service Award for her unwavering commitment to the University of Mindanao. For two decades, she has served the institution with integrity, professionalism and a true heart for education. Her many years of dedicated service show her passion for supporting the University in creating a nurturing academic community. These awards are not only individual accomplishments, but also proud moments for the whole College of Accounting Education. They symbolize the values that CAE continues to live by through excellence in performance, innovation in education, and dedication in service. The entire CAE community proudly celebrates Mr. Porras and Dr. Maquiling on these well-deserved honors.
